Outdoor kitchens in Baker
How Baker cooks outside.
A Baker kitchen gets used year round, and around Nicholls game days and the fall festival season it gets used hard. The builds that hold up are the ones sized for a crowd rather than for a couple: real counter run, real refrigeration, and somewhere to put a pot down that is not the top of the grill.
Outdoor kitchen island with a grill under a cover · Baton Rouge, LA
We start with the cooking wall and work outward. Grill and griddle where the smoke clears the seating, a boil burner housed and vented so the rig is not living in the garage the other fifty weeks of the year, and a sink so nobody is walking through the kitchen with a colander.
Masonry on soft ground needs a pad built for it, so the slab under an island gets prepared and reinforced the same way we would prepare one under a roof. A kitchen that settles takes the countertop and the appliance openings with it, and that is not a repair, it is a rebuild.

Could not be happier with the patio cover they built for us. We use the space almost every night now. The concrete work came out really nice too. Our dog even chased Rodney around the yard for a minute 😂

Love our gazebo!! It completely changed the backyard and gives us somewhere to actually sit outside when its hot
Really good experience from beginning to end. We did a covered patio with a large concrete slab and it turned out better than I pictured. Rodney was easy to get ahold of and stayed on top of everything

Dante came by a couple times while they were building ours and wanted to see how everything was coming along. He actually noticed something we wanted changed before we even said anything. That was nice to see from the owner

We added a pergola and extended our existing patio. Dante was involved during the project and checked in with us about what we wanted. The crew did a really good job and cleaned everything up when they left
Patio looks awesome. Rodney handled the project for us and made it pretty simple. He even brought us a bottle of bourbon to celebrate when the backyard was finished which was a pretty cool touch

Kelsey was super helpful getting everything scheduled. We love the new patio and cover!
Our backyard was basically just grass before this. Now we have a concrete patio, pergola and a place to put our furniture. Dante stopped by the property during the build and made sure we were happy with how things were going. Very happy with it

We had a gazebo installed and also added onto our concrete patio. Rodney was our project manager and kept us updated when things changed. Everything turned out really nice

Love the new patio cover!!! Looks great and was finished quicker than I expected. They also gave us one of the Parish care packages with tshirts, Yeti cups and some other goodies which was a nice surprise
We wanted somewhere to hang out outside and this was exactly what we needed. New slab, covered patio and a little pergola area. Looks great and the whole backyard feels different now

Our promise
We are not perfect. We just do not leave.
On a build with this many moving parts, something will eventually go sideways. When it does, you call your project manager and it gets handled. If it is bigger than that, I come look at it myself.
“We aren’t perfect. We do make mistakes, but I promise we will fix anything and leave you satisfied when done.” — Dante Harris, Owner

Every signed structure contract comes with a custom 3D rendering of your home and your yard — drawn from your survey, site photos and video, never a stock picture. This is what one looks like.
An actual 3D rendering from one of our designs (artistic conception). Every rendering is drawn to the customer’s own home, lot and chosen materials.

Good to know
Straight answers, up front.
Can you build a crawfish boil setup into the kitchen?
Yes, and it is far cheaper designed in from the start than retrofitted later. We house and vent the burner and put a hose bib within reach.
Do I need a cover over the kitchen?
You do not need one, but a kitchen under a roof gets used probably three times as much. If the budget only reaches one of them this year, we design the slab and the gas and power runs so the cover drops on next year without tearing anything out.
Do you pull permits in East Baton Rouge Parish?
Yes. East Baton Rouge Parish permitting, floodplain and elevation review, engineering for the covered structure, 811 locates and inspections are handled by your project manager and priced into the job.
What does an outdoor kitchen cost in Baker?
Outdoor kitchens start at $8,500 and price follows the linear footage, the finish and the appliances you pick. Financing through HFS Financial is available from $3,000 to $450,000, and you get an itemized number in writing after the walkthrough.
If my kitchen goes under a pavilion, what holds the structure up?
A concrete footing under every post. Every post on every pavilion and patio cover we build sits on its own concrete footing, sized for the structure and the ground, never on the edge of a slab. Footings are included in the price. Why footings matter.
